This graphic novel is a cute story that follows 2 friends, Shelby, a mystery loving fox and Watts, a badger with an infinity for encyclopedic knowledge as they try to solve the mystery of the missing shells for their friend Fred, a hermit crab. The way in which it continually refers to clues along the way is helpful for the age group of 6-9 as they try to gather clues and solve the mystery along with Shelby and Watts. I will be adding this title to my list of reading suggestions as I find that kids will enjoy the simplistic drawing style and anthromorphic characters and caregivers will enjoy the mystery and environmental science facts given along the way.
